Job Description

What's the job?

Predictice is looking for a full-time computational linguist to join the team in Paris. You will work on a team applying natural language processing and understanding in order to extract structured information from legal documents. You will have ideally 1+ years of experience in NLP/NLU, and good coding skills. You are updated on the last major breakthroughs in NLP research, but primarily you are motivated, eager to learn, and proficient at overcoming technical difficulties. A plethora of tools and framework we are using can be found here.

What you will do:

  • Design, prototype, implement, test and debug software, primarily in Python or Scala
  • Build pipelines to clean and prepare data
  • Plan and conduct annotation and validation sessions with legal domain experts
  • Experiment with state-of-the-art techniques and tools for text mining, NLP and NLU
  • Work with your team, product, marketing, and other engineers to move features through the development life-cycle
  • Write and update documentation

Preferred Experience

What we are looking for (musts)

  • Strong computer science fundamentals such as algorithms and data structures
  • Computational linguistics degree and/or experience in linguistic approach to textual data
  • Good knowledge of Python or Scala
  • Excellent problem solving ability and initiative
  • Careful attention to detail in writing, reviewing and testing code

Nice to have

  • Experience with Neural Networks and Deep Learning
  • Comfortable in English (for reading documentation and watching presentations)
